“Oh no… It seems that your baby has yet to turn. She still in breech position, she seems comfortable.” My gynae was shocked to see my little precious still enjoying her time in the womb. Both my mother and sister were excited to ‘see’ her via the ultrasound. She was happily sucking her thumb.
I had to sign the documents, agreeing to a C-section on 9 November 2007.
On the way home, I was telling my hubby that I would not get the chance to experience the contractions or even water bag burst.

I could feel my side of the bed was wet.
Apparently, I spoke too soon. My water bag burst and warm fluid kept on flowing. It’s time for my little darling to see the world. Contractions been taking place during the journey from home to the hospital with an interval of 8 mins. My mum and hubby were right beside me, comforting me, taking my mind off the pain. By the time the clock says 0300hrs, the interval seems to be nowhere. The pain was excruciating. To break ones finger would be less painful than having contractions. The last thing I heard was my gynae assuring the nurses that it was time to push me to the operating theatre. I was given an epidural and the next thing I knew, I couldn’t feel my lower body. The only thing that I could feel was little slaps from the nurses to make sure I was awake.

I can hear the cries of my little precious. That was the time, little Adreanna Qystina binte Abdul Rahim was born. I got the privilege to be the first one to kiss her on her cheek.
That’s when I realized: WELCOME TO MOTHERHOOD
