Dave and me

Platonic friendship. Does it exist?

Even FRIENDS, the sitcom has yet to prove the viewers if it does exist. Chandler & Monica got married after a very long-term friendship. Well, that is just entertainment.

As I speak, I am in a platonic friendship with a guy for almost 7 years. The itch has yet to take off. We believe in good friendship, that’s why we both still remain friends. During this period of time, numerous misunderstanding had taken place but we managed to pull it through by sorting them out as soon as time permits. We could not let any misunderstanding jeopardize this relationship that we have built up for many years. Its not an easy task but we managed to let it stand and many years to come.

When there is bad time, there are always room for good times. We share common interests: gossiping about people whom irritates us, mock them and share a good laugh. Apart from mean deeds we do, we are always being nice to each other. Pampering each other needs (if necessary). So far as I know, we have yet to reach the stage.

He has been a good friend and always will be.

28 September 2006

My engagement ceremony came to a surprise to everyone in the family. Even I was not invited. Simply put in words, we were not notified. My boyfriend’s parent, then, came over for a well, ‘meet-the-parents’ session. It was more like get-to-know everyone in the family.

By then, I was duly engaged to Abdul Rahim Bin Razali on 13th day of January 2006. 8 months had passed. During this period, a lot has taken place, misunderstanding, (which is rather common issue in a relationship), learning more about one another, each lifestyle, family background and upbringing and among other things. At the same time, we dote on each another more and more each loving day, connection and understanding. A bit of pros and cons that add up, somehow spice up our relationship.

As at today, 28th day of September 2006, I’ve 71 days of single-hood. The last time my cousin (who is celebrating his 17th birthday as I speak) did a check was exactly 90 days. Without me realizing it, 19 days had whizzed through me.

As time goes by, I could feel butterflies in my stomach. It may be a figure of speech but if it could literally happen, it would.

Preparation for my wedding has yet to take off. So much things pending since the day I got engaged. My parents especially my mother is pretty much excited than I am. Here I am, taking one day at a time.
